No two people live in the same city.

Tell me about yours.

I love telling stories. That's why for nearly a decade I wrote about life in Kansas, Texas, and Pennsylvania as a journalist.  For most of that time, I distilled complex government topics for readers, chronicled life in diverse communities, and held public officials accountable. Now I tell urban stories in a different way, tackling city issues directly. As a long-range urban planner in Kansas City, Missouri, I advance equitable planning practices in first-ring suburban neighborhoods and promote transit alternatives throughout the city.

I graduated from the University of Michigan with a Master's Degree in Urban Planning in 2023 with a focus on sustainable growth and healthy cities. While at Taubman College I was the co-president of the Urban Planning Student Association and on the board of Agora, the student-run planning journal.

Outside of work, I hike and bike (less than I would like) and am nerdy about LEGO. I'm one of those bearded white dudes with a  craft beer-themed Instagram, but I like to talk about urbanism there too. The Midwest will forever be home.
